Facilitating experiential learning is central to my teaching philosophy. As an instructor of application-based coursework, I continually seek ways to help students engage deeply with course material and explore practical avenues for applying it within their field of study. Research has shown that application-based and project-based learning in higher education enhances knowledge acquisition (Guo et al., 2020; Renn & Jessup-Anger, 2008). This approach is particularly valuable in courses where students must apply their experiences and show their competency both within and beyond the classroom. It strengthens their ability to translate knowledge into practice and supports the application of learned concepts in real-world settings (McLean, 2016).
