The host city for the 10th annual Teaching Professor Conference is New Orleans, LA; one of the world’s most fascinating cities.
Steeped in a history of influences from Europe, the Caribbean, Africa and beyond, it’s a brilliant mosaic of culture, food and music. You’ll find brimming bowls of gumbo, late nights in jazz clubs, strolls through historic neighborhoods and tantalizing festivals throughout the year.
The city boosts many major attractions, from the world-renowned French Quarter and Bourbon Street’s notorious nightlife to St. Charles Avenue (home of Tulane and Loyola Universities, the historic Pontchartrain Hotel, and many 19th century mansions), to Magazine Street, with its many boutique stores and antique shops.
New Orleans is world-famous for its food and is known for specialties like beignets, Praline, Po’ boy and Italian Muffuletta sandwiches; Gulf oysters on the half-shell, fried oysters, boiled crawfish; étouffée, jambalaya, gumbo, and other Creole dishes; and the Monday favorite of red beans and rice.
Visit the New Orleans Convention and Bureau for more information.
